Nelson P. Carvalho, MBA

Nelson Carvalho is a Financial Executive with over 45 years of experience in organizations ranging from Fortune 100 to entrepreneurial, privately-held, and also Non-Profit.  He holds an MBA from the University of Delaware where he was also a full-time Member of the Faculty for 3 years in its Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics.

 

Nelson has held financial management positions at E. I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., Inc., Westinghouse Electric Inc., and Fiber-Line, Inc. in capacities ranging from Internal Audit to Budget Director at a large Government-Owned-Contractor-Operated (GOCO) facility, to District Controller in a wholly-owned environmental remediation subsidiary, and CFO at a mid-sized manufacturing company.  He also co-founded and operated a company that distributed energy-saving technology to large energy consumers along the US East Coast.  He later became the Chief Business Officer of the Hepatitis B Foundation and the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute in Doylestown, PA.  During that time he was also the Chief Operating Officer for the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center of Bucks County, also located in Doylestown, PA.

 

In 2013, Nelson and three other Partners co-founded N-Zyme Scientifics, LLC to develop and supply High-performance enzymes primarily used for Mass Spec-based biomedical research, enabling innovations in both Glycomics and Proteomics.  Today he serves the Company as its President and CEO.
