Dr. Anand Mehta received his D.Phil. from the University of Oxford in England where he studied under Dr. Raymond Dwek. Dr. Mehta is currently a Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina in the Department of Cell and Molecular Pharmacology and the SmartState Endowed Chair in Proteomics.  He developed a method referred to as “glycoproteomics” and used this method to identify several serum biomarkers of liver disease and liver cancer. His lab was one of the first to perform total serum glycan analysis for biomarker detection and one of the first to perform serum glycoproteomics. Prior to joining MUSC, he was a Professor at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Mehta is a co-founder of Glycopath, a company that focuses on glycosylation patterns as a prognostic or diagnostic tool.
